Susan - The future co-owner of the re-opening Chipping Campden Bookshop Print E-mail
Friday, 03 September 2010 14:46

HOT NEWS !!!

Susan is going to become co-owner of the re-opening CHIPPING CAMPDEN BOOKSHOP, as from mid-September. Partners are Jaffe and Neale who already run the award-winning Indie Bookshop of that name in Chipping Norton.

The Chipping Campden Bookshop closed in June this year and will re-open with Susan very much on board and often - though not always - in the shop. You will be able to come in and buy her books or bring your existing copies to have signed. It is a tiny shop but we have lots of exciting plans, there will be a great stock with books you don`t find everywhere, let alone in every supermarket. Chipping Campden is an unspoilt small market town in the North Cotswolds, with lovely walks, a magnificent church, lots of coffee shops, tea rooms and excellent hotels. And it doesn`t look like 'every other High Street,' shop-wise - it has also been called the most beautiful High Street in England.

More news about the opening. Come along, spend a morning, afternoon, day, weekend in Chipping Campden and buy and browse. Susan can also be in the shop 'by appointment' if you want to bring books/have books signed etc.

The prize now known as the Man Booker was not awarded in 1970 but now a competition to find the lost winner has been launched by Man Booker and Susan's novel I`M THE KING OF THE CASTLE, published in that year, has been longlisted for the prize, among 21 others many of whose authors are no longer alive.

The short list will be chosen by a panel of 3 in March and the eventual winner chosen by public vote at the Man Booker website. Susan's recent work Print E-mail

I have just this week finished writing a new ghost story, THE SMALL HAND. It will be published by Profile, who did such a wonderful job with the last ghost novella, THE MAN IN THE PICTURE - as well, of course, as with HOWARDS END IS ON THE LANDING.

It will be out for Hallowe'en this year.

Now starting something quite different.
