A busy time coming up. THE VARIOUS HAUNTS OF MEN, my first crime novel, comes out on June 2nd. There will be a big interview in the MAIL ON SUNDAY (NIGHT AND DAY SECTION) appearing on May 27th, in which I talk about the crime novel genre, and how I came to write one.. and the process of doing it.

I will be interview by MARK LAWSON for BBC Radio 4 FRONT ROW – date of transmission tbc.. a good programme to do, always enjoyable, always intelligent questions, and Mark is a great interviewer.

I`m at METHVENS BOOKSHOP, WINDSOR on the evening of WEDNESDAY JUNE 23RD, talking about the crime novel and signing copies.

MEANWHILE, I have finished book 2 of the three Simon Serailler crime novels – that`s the name of the DCI who features in all of them - called THE PURE IN HEART. I`ve had lots of great help from friends in the Wiltshire police force, and from the website police999.com.. also for the next book, I`m getting plenty of advice about helicopter air/sea rescue from 202SQUADRON.. the brave guys who come to get you when you`re stranded on a rock and the tide is rising round you..

My last book of short stories THE BOY WHO TAUGHT THE BEEKEEPER TO READ comes out in paperback at £6.99 in June too.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK is coming to the last few weeks of its National tour… and also still runs happily in THE FORTUNE THEATRE, in London`s West End where it has been for 15 years. Andrew Lloyd Webber has just opened a musical called THE WOMAN IN WHITE.. everyone is asking if it will cause confusion.. well, it might. And if I object.. oh no. Everything he does is good.. it`s a musical based on Wilkie Collins’s 19th century novel so he got the title first. We at THE WOMAN IN BLACK just refer to the other as The Pale Imitation.

A radio comedy series called POLLY`S DIARY..
And Book three of the Serrailler crime novel trilogy THE RISK OF DARKNESS.
